We’ve just kicked off the Mozilla Geolocation Pilot project India. Mozilla Geolocation service is so far the most open & public location service in the world, and now you have the opportunity to help make it better.
Here’s how:
- Download & install MozStumbler on your GPS enabled Android phone
- You may have to enable installing apps from SD card security lock
- Open the App, visit settings & set a Nickname
- Share the nick by filling up the form embedded below
- The nick will be used for ranking you on the leaderboard
- Go on about Stumbling all over the places, throughout India
- The app doesn’t need an active data connection
- You can upload all collected data whenever you get online
- On 4th May, 2014 12:00 UTC, we’ll publish the custom leaderboard
- We’ll look up for scores only among the form-submitted Nicks
For the ones topping the chart, we’ll reward their great effort with some interesting gifts:
- Topper: 7800mAh Mobile Power Bank
- Runner-up: 5600mAh Mobile Power Bank
- Next 3 runner-ups: 3 x 2800mAh Mobile Power Banks
All other geolocation-scouts with valiant contributions will also be recognized in the follow-up blog post.
So, go on now… the time is ticking! 😉
