Firefox is the only browser that puts you first, to share this message, Mozilla launched, Firefox Flicks, a global video contest. Users, fans, filmmakers, animators and people with creativity and an appreciation for Firefox participated in the contest by creating a short video to share our message. The last date for the Submissions was May 1st 2012. There were more than 400 submissions, 1000 plus filmmakers from around the world! We had a great time watching all the videos.
The global winners were selected by the Hollywood judges like Edward Norton, Shauna Robertson, Jeffrey Silver and many other at 2012 Cannes Film Festival. Mozilla India Would like to congratulate everyone who submitted a video and thank everyone who voted. You can still watch all of the clips at the Firefox Flicks website.
We are excited to share that, we have a winner from India! Anahita Gottipati from Hyderabad is the BAVC(Bay Area Video Coalition) Winner.
To celebrate this, Mozilla India community hosted a Firefox Flicks success party at Hyderabad on May 26th. The guests include Mozilla reps – Vineel(myself), Galaxy, Sai Kiran, Srikar, Srikanth; Student reps – Aloke, Harsha, Sumanshu, Rakesh; college students, geeks from the city, entrepreneurs, press & media people. Also, we had a very special guest for the evening, Anahita, BAVC winner.
The event started with a short introduction to Mozilla, followed by showing The Mozilla Story video. Aloke gave an introduction to Firefox Flicks video contest, just after that Galaxy screened the Firefox Flicks Showreel Video, which made everyone excited.
Anahita shared her experiance of participating and winning in the contest. Her winning video was played after her talk.

Later all the winning videos were screened on the mini projector. Another fun part at the event was playing ‘dumb charades‘!! The winners of the dumb charades were given Firefox Flicks swag! 🙂
Overall it was an amazing event. Thanks to everyone who made it possible, specially Galaxy, Aloke, Amitesh, & Zoheb.
